One of the recurring questions we have when doing travel research is “how long do we need to spend at X place”. Do we need a few hours? Few days? Well???
The answer is… it’s up to you!
You can spend as much or as little time as you need to explore a place. You own your travel. You are in charge. Not me. Not google. You.
Always keep in mind that you’re not travelling to please someone else. You’re doing it for you. Do what you want. Spend as much time as you need. Use everyone else’s opinion as a guide. Use our opinion as a guide. Just because it worked for someone else doesn’t mean it will work for you.
Just because it worked for us once doesn’t mean it will work for us again. We once spent 4 days in Rome and on our next visit we spent 9 hours. Guess what? We thoroughly enjoyed both the trips.
Life is short. Annual holidays are restricted. Money is limited. Places to visit are in abundance.
Do what fits your needs. Prioritise. Forget what anyone else has to say. You own your travel.
Happy travels,
Amana
PS. Check out the post on our budget trip to Lapland where we saw the northern lights staying at a glass roof hut and sledded with husky dogs! We detailed exactly how much we spent. Hope this helps you get started on planning…
